From the outset our focus has been on putting people at the heart of everything we do – opening up access to cycling and walking routes, helping residents overcome barriers and connecting communities with opportunities for work, training and leisure.

We’re proud to work with organisations already at the heart of our communities to provide tailored support, helping people overcome transport barriers and access employment, education, training and leisure opportunities by bike or on foot.
More than 1,000 people across West Yorkshire have boosted their mental and physical health thanks to our ground-breaking patient referral scheme in partnership with Cycling UK.

We’ve joined forces with a group of West Yorkshire residents to share their personal stories about the impact cycling and walking has had on their lives to inspire more people to travel by bike or on foot.
This Clean Air Day, children all over West Yorkshire are enjoying the benefits of bike and scooter parking funded by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, making it easier and safer for families to get children to school without using cars.
£2.1 million scheme is part of a package of canal towpath upgrades across West Yorkshire
More adults are learning to ride for the first time in West Yorkshire than at any time since 2019, as free cycle training is supporting people to get back on their bike as our region recovers from the pandemic.
