Local couple use cycle route recently upgraded by CityConnect for 127 mile charity ride

When we heard that Chris and Adelle’s ride to raise money for the fantastic charity, Cash for Kids was going to use a cycle route that CityConnect recently upgraded, we just had to find out more!

As part of a competition with Radio Aire, the young couple have decided to cycle an impressive 127 miles on a tandem along the recently improved Leeds & Liverpool canal towpath.

Both residents of Rodley, Chris and Adelle live next to the canal towpath so it’s great that they can complete their challenge using a cycle route that is right on their door step.

Fiona Limb, CityConnect programme manager said:

“We are absolutely delighted to hear that Chris and Adelle are using a cycle route improved by CityConnect to raise money for such a brilliant cause. We’ll be routing for them on the day!”

Fundraiser Chris told us:

“Cash for Kids raises millions of pounds every year for local children and young people who are suffering from abuse or neglect, who are disabled and have special needs or who simply need extra care or guidance. Any support would be invaluable in maximising awareness for the cause”

Chris and Adelle, along with 5 other local couples are raising as much money as they can for the chance to win a wedding with Radio Aire. The fundraising closes at midnight this Sunday 19th February, so please get involved and don’t leave it too late to help Chris and Adelle raise as much money as they can.

To donate, please visit their fundraising page or alternatively you can donate by texting 'Couple1' with NO SPACES to 70808 which will automatically donate £5.00.

Good luck Chris and Adelle!
