go:walking small grants now available

The second round of the go:walking small grants scheme is now open for applications

Designed to encourage people from 12 areas across Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and Leeds to give walking a go, the go:walking small grants scheme can provide local groups, schools and other organisations with up to £500 funding.

Applications to the go:walking scheme, managed by Living Streets, the UK charity for everyday walking, should be for projects that encourage more people to walk more often or which improve the environment for pedestrians. Grants available through the scheme range from £100 to £500.

To qualify for funding, projects must be located in the following electoral wards:

  • Bradford – Bowling and Barkerend, Keighley Central or Little Horton.
  • Calderdale – Illingworth and Mixenden, Ovenden or Park.
  • Kirklees – Dewsbury East or Dewsbury West
  • Leeds – Beeston and Holbeck, Burmantofts and Richmond Hill, Killingbeck and Seacroft or Middleton Park
The deadline for applications has been extended to Friday 9th September.
