Bradford: “Capital of Cycling” in 2017!

2017 is a big cycling year for Bradford, with the planned start of Stage 3 of the now world-famous Tour de Yorkshire due in City Park at the end of April, the imminent launch of an updated Bradford Cycling Strategy, and ongoing major cycling infrastructure development that includes the ground-breaking CityConnect Cycle Superhighway linking Bradford and Leeds that was opened in June 2016.

To showcase these things and also confirm Bradford as a developing and ambitious centre for cycling, b-Spoke and Active Bradford are hosting a new year Bradford “Cycling Summit”, with support from Bradford MDC and CityConnect, at which there will be further exciting announcements for major cycling events in 2017.

The Cycling Summit is set for Tuesday 17th January and will be held in the Banqueting Room at Bradford City Hall. It starts at 6.30pm and will finish at 9.00pm. The Summit is designed to be a gathering of everyone involved in every aspect of cycling in Bradford and is an opportunity to share information, find out just what is going on and cast a look ahead to some of the possibilities that collectively Bradford can aspire to. All are welcome, and details can be found on the CycleBradford website (www.cyclebradford.org.uk) and Active Bradford website (www.activebradford.com).

Sign up to the event, which is free and for which there is secure valeted cycle parking outside City Hall (courtesy of CityConnect), via Eventbrite.
