Be a part of the People of CityConnect group!

At CityConnect we want to know how we can improve cycling and walking facilities for people just like YOU so that more people have the options to live a more healthy and active lifestyle. We regularly speak with various people in the community to find out their thoughts and feedback on present and future CityConnect schemes.

We welcome people from all walks of life. Even if it’s been years since you last rode a bike, or you don’t always feel comfortable walking in your local area. It’s actually your opinion we’re really interested in. We want to know why you don’t ride or walk more and what we can do to encourage you to do so. Your input is beneficial to the future walking and cycling schemes of West Yorkshire.

If you would like more information or would like to join the group and be invited to monthly meetings please contact the team at cityconnect@westyorks-ca.gov.uk

Coming up next week

We’d like to invite you to our next meeting on the 27th September where we will be focussing on walking and the go:walking project being delivered with our partners Living Streets.

One of the key outcomes of the go:walking project has been the Community Street Audits carried out by our delivery organisations and the different communities they have been working with. The go:walking Project Manager, John Kilner will lead the session, then we will take to the streets of Leeds to carry out our own Audit looking at how people move around the city on foot and review some of the potential barriers pedestrians may face.

We will then return to Wellington House, where we will close the session with feedback from each group.

This session will also be a good opportunity to find out more about the go:walking project and the current programme of Small Grants Funding

This event will take place on Tuesday 27th September, from 3pm until 5pm at WYCA Offices, Wellington House, Leeds (LS1 2DE).
