Adult cycle training
We’re offering free adult cycle training sessions with a qualified instructor. You just need to be over 16 and live in West Yorkshire.
Adult cycle training is for everyone, whether you’ve never ridden a bike, you want to practice a specific journey, or you want to learn to look after your bike.
Types of sessions
First time riders - Learn how to ride for the first time. These sessions are held away from roads, in places like parks or car parks.
Traffic free riding – Improve your riding confidence in a safe environment. These sessions are held away from roads, in places like parks or car parks.
How to ride on roads – Learn how to make short road journeys safely, sharing the road with other vehicles. These sessions are held on quieter streets and on cycle routes.
Journey practice – In this more advanced session, learn how to tackle traffic on busy roads, gaining the skills and confidence to travel by bike to a regular destination. These sessions are held one-to-one or in small groups.
Basic bike maintenance – Learn how to make simple adjustments and repair punctures.
Improver bike maintenance – Learn how to do more complex maintenance and repairs. This session is for people who already know the basics.
